Frequently Asked Questions
Why Don't You Carry Shark Vacuums?
We only carry repairable vacuums and products in our store. At the moment Shark does not make replacement parts for their machines causing more waste when something goes wrong with your vacuum. We believe the brands we carry are also more cost effective, rather than replacing a whole vacuum when a small part breaks the brands we carry have parts available for them.
What Is Soft Carpet?
Ultra soft carpeting has become very popular over the past 10 years, but it comes with one huge problem. Your current vacuum cleaner might not be able to clean it.
This new fiber is soft and it feels great on your feet, but this also makes it more challenging to clean. For a vacuum cleaner to glide easily on a carpet, air must flow into the nozzle and through the machine. Without air flow and the vacuum seals itself to the carpet and is hard to push and pull. This can cause damage to your carpet and your vacuum as well as makes cleaning much more challenging than it should be. The carpet industry’s solution was to recommend less powerful vacuums. The good thing is they pushed easy. The bad thing is they don’t clean properly. Companies like SEBO and Riccar have created vacuums, that not only push easy but will clean and not damage your carpeting. A few models we carry that work on this carpet are the SEBO Dart, SEBO Canisters, and Riccar R25 Series Vacuums.
With so many styles of carpet and padding we highly recommend bringing in a sample of carpet to your local vacuum store and speak to a cleaning professional. No one vacuum is perfect for every home and you want to make sure the vacuum you choose will clean all the other surfaces in your house as well.
Why Don't You Recommend Stick Vacuums For Full Home Cleaning?
While stick vacuums may be light and convenient to use, most of them have very small motors and are just meant for quick pickups. We recommend using uprights or canisters for full home cleaning. Uprights and canisters are also much more durable and last longer thank most stick vacuums.
